Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Patient Services, the Patient Services Manager for the Outpatient Clinic Services Program (OCSP) oversees and manages multidisciplinary teams composed of direct and indirect patient care staff. The primary objective of this role is to lead and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient patient care. The incumbent will inspire and guide staff to embrace and implement integrated, personcentred care and service delivery models for CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB).
The Patient Services Manager is accountable for providing patient-centric operational management in a financially responsible manner. Collaboration with leadership, internal teams, and external stakeholders is essential to support patients accessing quality cancer services. Additionally, the role involves monitoring and evaluating key performance indicators, working collaboratively with stakeholders, and ensuring safe, effective, and appropriate patient care through the clinical quality framework and a patient-centric approach. Ultimately, the aim is to cultivate an environment that promotes clinical and service excellence.
This position is stationed at St. Boniface General Hospital and travels to multiple sites, including Victoria General Hospital, Grace General Hospital and is also responsible for Systemic Therapy Program (STP) for Grace General Hospital and Victoria General Hospital.
Qualifications:
Education
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant health discipline from an accredited education institution
- A relevant graduate degree is an asset
Experience
5 years of progressive management experience leading a broad spectrum of patient services in a publicly funded health services delivery organization, including:
- 3 years of direct clinical services delivery across one or more assigned clinical areas of health care such as:
- Oncology, primary health, and/or community services including population health, health promotion and illness prevention for diverse populations across the human lifespan
- acute inpatient, specialty care and complex ambulatory settings
- integrating innovative community-based care modes (such as home care, primary care, etc.) to optimize healthy aging, health restoration and maintenance, and to deliver high-quality care in the areas of chronic disease, palliative care, community mental health, rehabilitation and/or long-term care
- 2 years of management experience leading a clinical operations team within a unionized environment is desired
- 2 years of experience implementing program planning, development and evaluation
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Demonstrated strong organizational, interpersonal, communications and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple requests • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Relevant healthcare-related management courses are an asset, including but not limited to change management, patient satisfaction, Multidisciplinary team environments, conflict resolution, and quality improvement
Required Licenses, Registrations, Designations
- Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body is required, as appropriate.
- Membership in a professional association is preferred (e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba, Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology, etc.)
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg (25 lbs)
- Interruptions to respond to questions from executives and partner organizations are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled.
- Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province
- The Manager of Patient Services will be travelling to different CCMB sites within Winnipeg
