Position Overview
Reporting to and working with the Director, Facilities Management, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Manager, Protection Services is responsible for managing all Security related activities; and performing other related duties as required.
Experience
- Five (5) years Management/Supervisory experience in security and investigation services required, preferably in a large hospital setting.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Completion of a university or college diploma in a related field.
- Completion of a supervisory or management program preferred.
- Law Enforcement Graduate from an accredited course preferred.
- A background in either institutional security or police work, with knowledge of law enforcement regulations, preferred.
- Must meet the Provincial/Municipal requirements to qualify for designation as "Special Constable".
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the Hospital, may be considered in lieu of the above.

Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software applications such as word processing, internet and email applications.
- Knowledge of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems.
- Knowledge of card access systems.
- Strong commitment to a team environment and promoting excellence in customer service and continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to write and present comprehensive reports in English.
- Ability to interact well with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Mature, professional manner.
- Ability to retain information on a confidential basis.
- Must be bondable.
