Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the incumbent is responsible for leading the implementation of a comprehensive occupational health and safety program, including environmental safety, occupational health, disability management, and musculoskeletal injury prevention. The incumbent is responsible for creating alignment between the various Shared Health portfolios in order to develop standardized OESH processes, and the day to day management of OESH Provincial Operations personnel.
Experience
- Five (5) years experience in an Occupational Health and Safety setting or equivalent experience required.
- Experience in project management, program planning, development and evaluation required.
- Formal management training/experience required.
- Finance and budgeting experience an asset.
- Experience in research and data analysis preferred.
- Experience working in the healthcare system preferred.
- Computer knowledge and experience with basic data base software applications an asset.
- Knowledge of safety certification processes an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Baccalaureate degree in a health-related discipline from an accredited education institution.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Degree or certificate in Human Resources Management preferred.
- Training/certification in an occupational safety and health discipline required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing [COHN (C)] preferred.
- Advanced preparation in Occupational Health and Safety required (i.e. CRSP designation) preferred.
- Certification in Disability Management (i.e. CDMP) preferred.

Physical Requirements
- May be required to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings.
- May be required to travel throughout the service area requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
