Position Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager, Marketing & Community Outreach advances the Wellness Institute’s mission by leading integrated marketing and community outreach initiatives that expand access to medical fitness, preventive health, and chronic disease management programs. This role combines data-informed, purpose-driven marketing strategies with hands-on leadership to elevate brand awareness, strengthen community trust, and increase program participation.

With a strong emphasis on digital marketing, the Manager develops and executes multi-channel campaigns across websites, social media, email, SEO/SEM, and paid advertising, using analytics to optimize performance, grow memberships, and support sustainable revenue.

In partnership with internal teams and community stakeholders, the Manager oversees health education programs, community events, partnerships, and ensuring programs are effectively delivered and have measurable impact on community health, wellness, and quality of life.

 

  • Marketing & Communications:
    • Leads the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote Wellness Institute programs and services to targeted audiences, driving engagement, membership, and program participation.
    • Designs, implements, and optimizes multi-channel campaigns—including digital, social media, email, paid advertising, website content, and print materials—ensuring brand consistency, quality, and measurable impact.
    • Monitors market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to inform strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
    • Evaluates digital performance using analytics, optimize website functionality and content, and track campaign effectiveness to improve results. 
    • Develops, manages, and tracks the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and ROI.
    • Builds and manages relationships with media agencies, vendors, and other third-party partners to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. 
    • Supervises and mentors the Communications and Technology Associate, providing guidance and delegating responsibilities effectively.
    • Manages public relations efforts, including press releases, media communications, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Collaborates with internal teams, the Hospital Foundation, and external partners to support integrated, campus-wide communications.
    • Performs other duties as reasonably assigned.
  • Outreach & Health Education: 
    • Provides strategic leadership for health education programs and community events, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and community needs. 
    • Oversees program staff, fostering high-quality delivery and accountability. 
    • Uses data and participant feedback to evaluate impact and drive continuous improvement.
    • Manages budgets and resources to support sustainable, high-impact initiatives.
    • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships and funding opportunities to expand program reach. 
    • Oversees the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP), including operational planning, staff supervision, budget management, performance tracking, and reporting to funders and stakeholders.

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive marketing experience, with a strong focus on digital marketing, preferably in healthcare, wellness, or fitness.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets, including forecasting, performance tracking, and ROI optimization.
  • Experience supervising staff and/or managing external vendors and agencies.
  • Experience driving growth, program enrollment, client acquisition, and/or patient engagement.
  • Experience leading or supporting outreach initiatives, partnerships, and/or events.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Business, or a related field.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven ability to develop, execute, and optimize integrated, multi-channel marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Hands-on expertise in digital channels (SEO/SEM, paid advertising, email, social media, and website management).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and optimize campaign performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate health and wellness concepts into clear, engaging messaging.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
