Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Director of Maintenance Services, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination, direction and control of all maintenance activities, execution of repairs and preventive maintenance required throughout the Centre. Other activities include: preparing reports and estimates, performing routine inspections, supervising and training shop staff in the operation, repair and preventive maintenance of building systems, and scheduling of staff.
Experience
- Minimum of seven years’ experience as an electrician, plumber, or electrical/mechanical technologist, with at least five years’ experience in a recognized management capacity.
- Must have or be able to acquire within a reasonable period of time a thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions and regulations applicable to the area of supervision.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
- Manitoba Electrical or Plumbing Journeyman certificate required, or diploma and Accreditation as Certified Engineering Technologist in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Manitoba or Inter-Provincial current and valid Electrical or Plumber Journeyman Certificate, or valid Manitoba accreditation as a Certified Engineering Technologist.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated good managerial abilities and good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills essential.
Physical Requirements
- Visual and aural acuity and manual dexterity.
