Reporting to the CEO, the Fundraising and Donor Relations Manager is responsible for all fundraising projects and initiatives undertaken by the Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre (“Simkin Centre”).  The Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and donor relations strategy to ensure the Simkin Centre can continue to expand its services and activities for Residents and their families. The Manager will work with the Chief Executive Officer as well as community volunteers to cultivate, steward and expand relationships between the Simkin Centre Foundation and its donors, potential donors, sponsors and partners.

 

 

EDUCATION

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related area
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset

 

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Experience working within the Winnipeg Jewish community and knowledge of Jewish customs and traditions is an asset

 

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of the structure and activities of charitable not-for-profit organizations
  • Computer aptitude including Microsoft products, fundraising software and various social media platforms
  • Knowledge of grant identification, application process and reporting

 

SKILLS

  • Has a pleasant and a courteous manner with excellent skills in public relations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and ability to problem-solve
  • Self-starter and takes initiative
  • Ability to adapt readily to changing demands and situations
  • Knowledge and experience in using fundraising software
