Manager, Clinical Health Services

Permanent Full-Time 1.0 EFT (40 Hours Per Week)

 

Klinic Community Heath is a pro-choice community health center that provides a full range of health-related services from medical care to counselling and crisis services to wellness and education services. POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Health and Community Services, the Manager, Clinical Health Services plans, directs and controls activities relating to the provision of health services, including supervision of the direct care providers and other clinical services staff. 

The Manager supports quality, client-centred care in a manner that is sustainable, efficient and effective and that meets and exceeds established standards. As a member of the leadership team, the Manager, Clinical Health Services works collaboratively with peers and is responsible for promoting positive working relationships across the agency and with external partners.

 

Clinical Health Services                                                                        

Oversees and manages Health Services clinical programs and associated delivery of service in alignment with Klinic’s mission, including:

  • Latent TB infections,      
  • Mobile withdrawal management service
  • Primary health care services
  • Provincial Transgender health program
  • Off-site clinical programs and services
  • Walk in programming: Unplanned pregnancy, STI, PAP and Teen clinics

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Plan, coordinate, direct, evaluate and improve programs and services incorporating evidence based and/or leading practices that are client centred, efficient and effective.
  • Establish and maintain health services procedures in compliance with WRHA standards.  
  • Provide leadership and direct supervision to a multidisciplinary team of professionals
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with community and related service agencies/organizations, working in collaboration to plan and deliver health services, health promotion and harm reduction strategies utilizing a community development approach.
  • Develop and implement a continuous improvement plan that supports quality, safe and sustainable programs and services.  Responds to concerns, complaints and incidents. 
  • Develop recommendations and present opportunities regarding new services or approaches, including business case development
  • Recommend policy revision and/or practice changes where appropriate. 
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff and ensure staff are orientated to policies, procedures and operating guidelines
  • Participate on Klinic’s Infection Prevention and Control Committee. Assist in maintaining infection control standards, including training and review of practices per established guidelines

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years related work experience with demonstrated leadership, program coordination and supervisory skills
  • Two years of management experience preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in a health or social services related field required
  • Master’s degree in a relevant health or social services related field is preferred
  • Active member in good standing with an associated regulatory body as appropriate
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting to facilitate and maintain a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated experience and ability writing reports or procedures. 
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing program and or supervision using anti-oppression and anti-racism practices to ensure Klinic values, mission and vision are upheld.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, scheduling flexibility may be required including evening, night and weekend work, limited travel and periodic on-call rotation.

 

SALARY RANGE: $87,426.00 to $111,384.00 Annually
