Position Overview
Under the direction of the Facility Support Services Lead or designate or assigned Tradesperson, the Utility Person performs and/or assists with preventative maintenance installation and repair of furnishings and other equipment and building systems.
Experience
- Recent minimum of 1 year work experience with demonstrated ability to perform mechanical tasks and basic repairs in building or equipment maintenance.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Grade 12 required (Manitoba Standards).
- System Maintenance Technician certificate or Building Operator certificate or Powering Engineering - 5th Class certification preferred.

Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (“WHMIS”) and adheres to procedures for handling and storing controlled substances as described in the Safety Data Sheets (“SDS”).
- Demonstrates a basic working knowledge of computers.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
