POSITION SUMMARY
- Maintenance of grounds including lawn, trees, hedges, shrubs, vines and flower beds.
- Plans and orders of seeds, plants, etc.
- Maintains all outdoor power equipment, garden tools, sprinkler systems, barbeques and patio furniture.
- Carpentry, repairs, drywall patching and painting.
- Adjusts and repairs door locks, hinges, windows and frames.
- Removal of garbage from outdoor areas.
- Ensures entrances and exits are cleared of snow and ice and sanded.
- Member of the Fire Response Team, as applicable.
- Assists maintenance staff as directed by the Support Services Supervisor.
- Provides assistance and guidance to the Green Team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Knowledge and training in areas of plumbing, electrical, heating, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, drywall installation and painting would be an asset.
- A valid driver’s license.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in commercial maintenance services in a healthcare environment would be considered an assetDemonstrated strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health practices.
- Knowledge of WHMIS.
OTHER
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
