POSITION SUMMARY

  • Maintenance of grounds including lawn, trees, hedges, shrubs, vines and flower beds.
  • Plans and orders of seeds, plants, etc.
  • Maintains all outdoor power equipment, garden tools, sprinkler systems, barbeques and patio furniture.
  • Carpentry, repairs, drywall patching and painting.
  • Adjusts and repairs door locks, hinges, windows and frames.
  • Removal of garbage from outdoor areas.
  • Ensures entrances and exits are cleared of snow and ice and sanded.
  • Member of the Fire Response Team, as applicable.
  • Assists maintenance staff as directed by the Support Services Supervisor.
  • Provides assistance and guidance to the Green Team members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and training in areas of plumbing, electrical, heating, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, drywall installation and painting would be an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license.  

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in commercial maintenance services in a healthcare environment would be considered an assetDemonstrated strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health practices.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS.

 

OTHER

 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
