Golden Door Geriatric Centre, an accredited personal care home in Winnipeg, is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our compassionate team. As an LPN at our facility, you will provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients within a client-centered care model. The LPN will work under the general supervision of the Director of Care and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Duties:
- Provide independent nursing services and administer prescribed medical treatments to patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members and participate in coordinating patient care.
- Practice within the scope of LPN standards and guidelines.
- Implement nursing care plans in conjunction with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document nursing care accurately using the nursing process.
- Maintain communication with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Report any changes in patient status promptly to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Uphold professional standards of behavior and appearance.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in all interactions.
Requirements:
Education/Experience:
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
- Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Experience in geriatric care is preferred.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of LPN standards, code of ethics, and scope of practice.
- Familiarity with facility policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Understanding of relevant legislations such as PHIA, WHMIS, etc.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize patient care and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Capacity to adapt quickly to changing situations in a demanding environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Good physical and mental health.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (Including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
