Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Manager, the incumbent is responsible for investigation and documentation of existing, new and replacement building systems and components to support the installation, commissioning, startup, maintenance and servicing of said systems and components. Assists in the organization and coordination of the Shop's workflow to ensure efficient utilization of resources. Carries out functions of the Plumbing trade.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the Plumbing field, preferably in a hospital environment, in all phases of installation, commissioning, start up, maintenance and servicing of building systems and components.
- Minimum of two (2) years lead hand or supervisory experience required.
- Experience in technical documentation of building systems and components, problem-solving and project completion required.
- Experience in development of commissioning procedures, and reading, interpreting and verifying contract documents (drawings, specifications and submittals) required.
- Experience in the development of preventative maintenance routines for equipment and systems would be an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete Grade 12, Manitoba standards, required.
- Manitoba Journeyman certificate in Plumbing required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Manitoba Journeyman certificate in Plumbing required.
Qualifications and Skills
- The incumbent must be self-motivated and possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills and an aptitude for customer service.
- Knowledge of related codes and CSA standards required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position including manual dexterity required.
- Position may require working from ladders, scaffolding, high level platforms or in confined spaces and enclosures.
