Position Overview

Reporting to the Production Supervisor and taking direction from the area Lead Hand, the incumbent dumps and sorts soiled linen at stations along the soil sort system according to predetermined categories. The incumbent will also rotate within the soil sort area between dumping soiled linen and sorting soiled linen at various stations as per the rotation schedule.

Experience

  • Previous related experience in a large institutional or commercial laundry environment required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba Standards, required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be proficient in speaking, writing and reading English.

Physical Requirements

  • The incumbent is required to stand, reach, bend, lift, toss, throw and stretch for sustained periods in order to perform tasks designated as Laundry Aide I and II duties.
  • The incumbent must be able to meet or exceed minimum productivity standards established by WRHA Laundry Operations.

 

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
