Position Overview

Reporting to the Production Supervisor and taking direction from the area Lead Hand, the Laundry Shipper is responsible for laundry production and specifically performing assigned duties in Shipping Areas.

Experience

  • Previous related experience in a large institutional or commercial laundry environment preferred.
  • Previous experience with recording and maintaining shipping records preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba Standards, required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be proficient in speaking, writing and reading English and have accurate mathematical skills.
  • Must have the ability to take initiative, have great attention to detail and work independently with minimal supervision required.
  • Knowledge of computerized distribution systems preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • The incumbent is required to stand, walk, reach, bend, lift, push and stretch for sustained periods in order to perform tasks at a fast-pace for the entire shift.
  • The incumbent must be able to meet or exceed minimum productivity standards established by WRHA Laundry Operations.

 

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
