TERM | Part time (0.4 EFT) | Days
Reporting to and under the direction of the Resident Care Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides quality nursing care that identifies needs of individual residents and develops a nursing care plan to ensure comprehensive care; provides direct nursing care based on the care plan, medical orders, Donwood Manor Resident Bill of Rights, Mission Statement, nursing objectives and policies, WRHA/Manitoba Health standards and provincial nursing regulations; assigns tasks; provides guidance to and evaluates the work performed by other nursing team members to ensure high quality of care and optimum utilization of staff; maintains accurate, appropriate, informative records of nursing observations, health conditions and care given.
QUALIFICATIONS
❖LPN with registration in good standing (CLPNM);
❖Prior experience in long-term care preferred;
❖Experience in supervisory roles;
❖Strong oral and written communication skills;
❖Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with residents and their families in problem-solving;
❖Understanding of gerontological nursing;
❖Strong organizational skills and ability to make decisions based on critical thinking and analysis;
❖Appreciation for and ability to provide care from a resident-centred perspective;
❖Completion of Wound Care Level 1 training an asset;
❖Mental and physical capabilities to meet the job demands;
❖Ability to function within an interdisciplinary team environment that supports quality resident care.
