Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The position is responsible for assisting internationally educated medical graduates to become ready to provide their services in Manitoba, which includes assisting with posting physician positions, coordinating assessments, education/training, and registration for internationally educated medical graduates to obtain licensure in Manitoba. As a member of Manitoba’s Health Care Retention and Recruitment Office, the incumbent works closely with a variety of entities to support the immigration, credentialing, and onboarding of internationally educated medical graduates into the provincial health care system.

The incumbent works collaboratively with various stakeholders including the Service Delivery Organizations (SDOs), Shared Health, Manitoba Health, the University of Manitoba Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, Doctors Manitoba, Manitoba Nominee Program, Immigration Canada, and Service Canada.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years directly related experience required.
  • Experience in recruitment activities including posting, screening and tracking candidates in a medical and health care field is an asset.
  • Experience creating and managing foreign applications with a government employer portal.
  • Experience with processing and documentation required for immigration.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including new Canadians, in a respectful, culturally sensitive and safe manner.
  • Experience working with government and non-government officials is an asset.
  • Previous health care experience preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • University degree in business administration, health administration, human resources, or related educational degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Certificate in Systems Navigation is an asset.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of physician credentialing and licensure.
  • Knowledge of medical staff operations, policies, rules and regulations, regulatory agency guidelines and standards.
  • Requires astute judgment and human relations skills.
  • Ability to think critically and to interface and communicate in an articulate manner with medical staff, administrators, legal counsel, and hospital personnel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computerized systems (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to navigate through challenges while maintaining accountability within set requirements.
  • Ability to listen intently and with empathy to identify needs and appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, but also the ability to carry out assigned tasks interacting with all levels within a team-based organization.
  • Ability to organize workload and resources to meet deadlines and contractual requirements.
  • Ability to manage and administer multiple financial processes to support recruitment programs.
  • High degree of integrity, dependability, honesty, tact, ethical standards and ability to work with confidential matters.
  • Working knowledge of current health care provider issues and payment methodologies is an asset.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, Word Press and DocuSign is an asset.

Physical Requirements

  • Typical day involves working at a computer and frequent meetings in an office environment.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and competing demands and frequent interruptions.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.
