Job Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the day to day delivery of human resources services including but not limited to; supporting recruitment and selection, serving as a point of contact for HR services, regular monitoring of incoming HR inquiries, assisting with HR reporting, employee relations, employee engagement, employee equity, diversity and inclusion, organizational engagement surveys and supporting the attendance management program.
This position will also be responsible for the departments reporting activities and support the analysis of data related to HR initiatives and special projects.
The Human Resources Coordinator will play a key role in coordinating and organizing employee appreciation and other HR related events, including events uninitiated by the CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) Special Events Committee.
This position will assist with HR initiatives, projects and assist HR Advisors with employee/labour requests as it relates to their portfolios and collective agreements. The HR Associate ensures effective and efficient HR service delivery for all by utilizing a client focused, HR best practice approach.
Qualifications:
Required:
Level of Formal Education & Experience
- Post Secondary Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources Management or Labour Relations from an accredited educational institution. Post secondary degree in a related field is preferred.
- 4 years of experience performing a broad range of Human Resource functions including; employee relations, labour relations, recruitment and selection or general HR administrative support, preferably in a large unionized environment.
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience coordinating, planning, organizing large events including managing invitations, RSVPs, catering, creating presentations and providing day of technical support for presenters.
- Demonstrated experience in employee engagement and labour relations.
- Demonstrated experience in a customer service role, effectively handling a variety of inquiries and communicating with all levels of staff and the public.
- Excellent active listening and superior customer service skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and assignments.
- Ability to handle the confidential aspects of this position with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to use critical thinking and sound judgement to solve problems.
- CPHR designation or working towards is preferred.
- Experience working in a health care environment is considered an asset.
- Experience working within an HRIS system such as, QHR, SAP, Success Factors is considered an asset.
- Project management skill is considered an asset Other
- Must have satisfactory employment record.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- Ability to speak French is considered an asset
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and able to lift and carry items.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities and competing demands.
- This position may on occasion be expected to travel to other CCMB sites for special events or meetings.
