Position Overview
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager and under the general supervision of the Human Resources Consultant, the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resources Department; completing a variety of transactions related to Human Resources; providing guidance to Managers in relation to Human Resources processes; providing basic collective agreement interpretation; and counseling staff in relation to Human Resource matters.
Experience
- 2 years recent experience in a Human Resources field required, preferably in a unionized environment.
- 2 years’ experience working with the ESP scheduling system preferred.
- Experience working with SAP preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Grade 12 required.
- Successful completion of a recognized Human Resources Management certificate program.
Qualifications and Skills
- Working knowledge of database management preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of various software including MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Demonstrated proficiency with other applications related to Human Resource information management.
- Knowledge of collective agreements in effect at Riverview Health Centre.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
