The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for the delivery of Housekeeping Services where applicable, by performing a variety of environmental activities, according to standards, to ensure a clean and safe environment that supports resident focused care, and other related functions.

Starting Date: April 9, 2023
Shift and Hours of Work: 0.80 FTE - part-time - days, currently 07:15 - 15:15 / 08:30 - 15:30
Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
Specifications: Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.
Closing Date: March 7, 2023


 

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Grade X.

Experience:

  • Directly related experience in a long term / chronic care facility an asset; and
  • Previous housekeeping experience, an asset.

Abilities and Skills:

  • Ability to communicate in English is required;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relationship and communication skills with residents' families and co-workers;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to change;
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in courteous manner;
  • Mental and physical health to meet the requirements of the job;
  • Ability to organize and establish priorities regarding workload;
  • Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; and
  • Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.

Knowledge:

  • Actionmarguerite's Vision, Mission and Values and Resident Bill of Rights, Actionmarguerite's policies and procedures;
  • Workplace Health and Safety and safe work practices; and
  • W.H.M.I.S. program.
All staff are hired for the facility. Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.
