Position Overview

The Home Care Program helps individuals remain in the familiar environment of their own home by providing health services or assistance with activities of daily living.

 

Performs assigned tasks for clients which may include personal care, ambulation, transfer, positioning, ensuring medication is taken as directed, feeding and toileting as well as housekeeping, laundry, client nutritional intake and client supervision as identified in Care Plan. Follows protocol for routine practice and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment. Organizes work according to client needs and assigned tasks. Maintains accountability by working with program guidelines, and observing and reporting changes in client conditions to the Resource Coordinator, and maintain client confidentiality. Complete and submits timesheets, mileage reports and other documentation as required.

 

Consistent with the French Language Services Policy of the Government of Manitoba and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority's French Language Services Policy, the WRHA is committed to offer services in French and English in designated program/service areas serving francophone communities in Winnipeg. Aperçu du poste

Le programme de soins à domicile fournit des services de santé ou de l’aide à effectuer les activités quotidiennes aux particuliers chez eux, dans leur environnement familier.

 

Exécuter les tâches suivantes, entre autres, pour les clients : soins personnels, ambulation, transfert, repositionnement, s’assurer que le client prend ses médicaments selon la prescription, alimentation et toilette personnelle, entretien ménager, lessive, apports nutritionnels du client, supervision du client selon le Plan de soins. Suivre le protocole pour la pratique courante et maintenir un environnement sécuritaire et salubre. Organiser le travail selon les besoins du client et les tâches confiées. Afin de maintenir le sens des responsabilités : travailler suivant les lignes directrices du programme, observer et signaler tout changement dans l’état du client au coordonnateur des ressources, préserver la confidentialité du client. Remplir et présenter ses feuilles de présence, ses rapports de kilométrage et tout autre document requis.

 

Fidèle à la Politique des services en langue française du gouvernement du Manitoba et à sa propre politique en matière de services en français, l’Office régional de la santé de Winnipeg s’est engagé à offrir ses services en français et en anglais dans des zones francophones désignées de programmes et de services. Experience

  • Recent experience working with the elderly and/or physically disabled an asset.
  • Satisfactory employment record required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Requires a Health Care Aide/Home Care Attendant certificate from an educational institution recognized by the WRHA.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.

  • Certificat Aide en soins de santé/Aide aux soins personnels à domicile d’un établissement d’enseignement reconnu par l’ORSW, requis.
  • Combinaison de formation et d’expérience équivalente sera considérée.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Valid driver's license and vehicle required in order to make home visits to various clients in the community. 

 

Accréditation/permis d’exercer/inscription

  • Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills required.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel between assignments in a community area to several private homes of clients within Winnipeg and surrounding areas and to adapt to changes in scheduling on short notice required.
  • This position is also subject to TB Immunization or Tuberculin testing as per WRHA policy.

 

Exigences physiques

  • Ce poste est aussi sujet à l’immunisation contre la tuberculose ou au test tuberculinique, conformément à la politique de l’ORSW.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

 

Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.
