$42.124 to 55.07 per hour D.O.Q.
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Primary Care, the Primary Care Nurse provides comprehensive health care assessments, sexual health examinations, supports health promotion, chronic diseases education, prevention and monitoring, and urgent triage services. With an emphasis on specialized nursing services, to the HIV infected and at-risk populations, the Primary Care Nurse provides on-going case management.
The job is a casual position. The regular work days for this position will fall between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.
The position is classified as Group Nurse IV, on the MNU salary scale (WCHREO 2015 Hours). A comprehensive benefit package is provided as per employee eligibility via HEB Manitoba.

Qualifications
Required Education, Certifications
- Baccalaureate in Nursing from a recognized university or a combination of nursing diploma from a recognized college and clinical experience
- Registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
- Active Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience. Preference will be given to those with
clinical experience in fast paced and independent practice settings such as
emergency departments, intensive care units and northern nursing stations.
• Demonstrated clinical skills in health assessments, physical examination and
nursing interventions
• Experience in prevention, STBBI and chronic disease management
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in electronic medical records and working knowledge of medical
charting systems and principles
• Demonstrated computer competency and experience working with Microsoft
applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Able to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
• Ability to manage inter-personal conflict in a respectful manner
• Requires the ability to prioritize demands in an ever-changing, dynamic
environment with attention to detail and effective organizational skills
• Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions and the
impact of colonization on the health and well-being of Indigenous individuals and
families.
Assets for position:
- Certification in HIV/AIDS nursing (ACRN)
- Registered Nurse Authorized Prescriber, RN(AP) designation in reproductive health, sexually transmitted infections and blood borne pathogens
- Fluency in languages other than English
