Finance Officer – New Posting

Summary of Functions:

Under the direction of the CEO (or designate), the Finance Officer is responsible for all aspects of the capital fund accounting and assigned operating fund accounting routines, to include: performing month end and year end journal entries and reconciliations; performing month end reviews and analysis; performing variance analysis and preparing reports; preparing audit working papers; preparing and maintaining amortization schedules; performing variance analysis of capital projects;  preparing capital funding collection submissions; maintaining financing records relating to the capital project and equipment expenditures; preparing borrowing documents, working papers, and analysis; preparing statutory reports; and performing other related duties as assigned. The Accountant works within the policies, Mission, Vision & Values of Golden Links Lodge, and must respect Residents’ Rights and adhere to the Respectful Workplace policy.

Qualifications Required:

1. Minimum three (3) years accounting experience in a health care setting preferred
2. Minimum foundation accounting skills with preference giving to an accounting designation, CGA, CMA, CA.
3. Experience in Great Plains Dynamic Health Care Program preferred, strong computerized accounting and excel skills required.
4. Full cycle accounting experience and strong analytical abilities and attention to detail required.
5. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
6. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
7. Aptitude for recognizing, investigating and analyzing problems and developing innovative solutions.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills within a personal care home setting.
