Position Overview

As a member of the Deer Lodge Health Group (DLHG) Leadership Team the position is responsible for the leadership and oversight of one of two assigned Clinical Portfolios in the Deer Lodge Health Group, including Directors and Managers, Health Services, for inpatient, long-term care and outpatient ambulatory care clinics. Acts as a primary liaison for WRHA and Shared Health clinical operations providing services within the Deer Lodge Health Group operation with primary responsibility for Allied Health professional practice and standards.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years recent, relevant clinical experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility required.
  • Experience in program planning, development and evaluation and managing patient or resident care services in diverse settings required.
  • Experience in budget development, administration and monitoring of budget activity required.
  • Knowledge of education and research processes preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Master’s degree in an applicable field (e.g., Nursing, Allied Health, Business or Health Care Administration) combined with a Bachelor degree in a relevant Health Profession.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Must be a member in good standing with the relevant Professional College.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of education and research processes preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills, rapid problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, judgment and interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity, dependability, honesty, initiative and tact.
  • Thorough understanding of complex health related issues.
  • Ability to work with a computerized environment.
  • Ability to manage non-routine, highly-variable workload.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work under stress and time constraints within a dynamic environment.
  • May be required to work extended hours.
  • May be required to work evenings or weekends.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic material, allergens, physical and emotional stress.
  • May encounter aggressive and or agitated clients, visitors, staff.
  • Ability to attend meetings and supervise staff at multiple sites.

 

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
