Job Summary:

 

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Policy, Planning and Strategy, the Enterprise Risk Management Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the tasks, policies, procedures and other documentation necessary to identify, assess and prepare for organizational risks (e.g. losses, dangers, hazards and other potentials for harm) that may interfere with CancerCare Manitoba’s (CCMB) mission and objectives.

 

This position has responsibility to manage the workflow of CCMB’s corporate risk management program, actively contribute to emergency and disaster planning, serve as primary contact/liaison for security contractors and partners, and correspond with interjurisdictional and partner organizations in assessing and reporting on organizational risk.  This includes maintenance and updating of the integrated risk management system. 

 

The Enterprise Risk Management Coordinator will support the Department of Corporate Policy, Planning and Strategy, and work closely with the Department of Environment (Workplace, Health and Safety) and the Department of Quality and Patient Safety, in assessing overall risks to the enterprise, including physical/environmental, and organizational/operational, that impact the mission and objectives of CancerCare Manitoba.

 

 

Qualifications:

Required:

Education

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from an accredited educational institution.

 

 

Experience

  • 3 years of experience working in an institutional environment where enterprise risk evaluation is regularly monitored and reported to senior management.
  • 3 years of experience in risk management processes including coordinating the management of risk within a project or organization which encompasses performing the following activities:
      • Risk assessment
      • Risk identification
      • Qualitative and quantitative risk analysis
      • Risk evaluation
      • Risk treatment
  • 2 years of experience working with Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC) and IRM Risk Register
  • 2 years of experience working in Emergency Preparedness, Disaster Management and Incident Command Systems (ICS)

 

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheet and database application.
  • The ability to work independently and interact with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and focus work-related activities to effectively and efficiently achieve goals and produce expected results/outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork and cooperation, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
  • Ability to assess and problem solving
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement
  • Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking, decision-making, project planning and management, problem-solving, crisis management and conflict resolution skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize competing deadlines

 

Preferred

  • Successful completion of disaster/emergency management course(s)
  • Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of the Incident Command System
  • Previous experience in a health care setting

 

Required Licenses, Registrations, Designations

  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings at multiple sites throughout the organization and lift and carry items
  • The position holder must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel between sites where public transport is not available
