Early Childhood Educator II
Full-time Term Position

Department:        NorWest Early Learning and Child Care Centre
Position:                Early Childhood Educator II (Frontline Staff)
Status:                   4-month term position with possibility of extension
Hours:                    Full-time, 40 hours/week
Shift:                      Must be available Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Rate:                      $27.56–$31.49/hour (as per CUPE Daycare Collective Agreement)
Start Date:            As soon as possible

Qualifications:

• Classification as Early Childhood Educator II
• Strong interpersonal, team building, and leadership skills
• Current first-aid and CPR certification
• Good understanding of Early Learning and Child Care Program’s Regulations
• Must be energetic, friendly and enthusiastic
• Must be willing to take initiative
• Willingness to work with children who require additional support
• Experience in implementing activities for infant an asset
• Subject to successful criminal record check and investigation authorization/child abuse registry check.

Responsibilities

• To ensure the physical care and safety of the children.
• To provide emotional support and nurturing care to children
• To provide children with the opportunity for optimum growth and development
• To follow Centre’s behaviour management policy
• To maintain confidentiality; follow licensing regulations, to know and follow Centre policies and procedures.
• Mentor staff
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families /outside agencies
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
