Job Summary:

 

The Director of Corporate Policy, Planning and Strategy is a consultative leader who works in partnership with CCMB leadership to ensure the organization is well positioned to maintain its place as a leading cancer agency in Canada. 

 

The Director, Corporate Policy, Planning & Strategy works closely with the Chief of Corporate Services and Finance and other Directors within of the Corporate Services portfolio to ensure corporate operations are operating smoothly in support of the organization’s mission. The Director also works collaboratively with external stakeholders, including educational and health services organizations across Manitoba.

 

The Director is responsible for a variety of corporate functions including, planning, strategy, business development, project management and corporate policies. The Director supports the Executive, and other members of the senior leadership team in developing CCMB’s Annual Operational Plans as well as strategic and tactical matters related to the organization’s mandate. 

 

Qualifications:

 

Required:

 

Level of Formal Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in business, law, public administration, arts, sciences or another field relevant to the position.
  • Minimum 10 years working in a corporate services environment encompassing a strong cross-section of experience in various core functions.
  • Minimum 5 years in a management role.

 

An appropriate equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience in operational planning, data-driven program evaluation, organizational management, policy and program development.
  • Demonstrated strong emotional intelligence, self-awareness, self-management and social awareness.
  • Ability to proactively build and maintain partnerships and to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have strong facilitation skills, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, analyze, problem-solve and apply knowledge and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in leading organizational transformation projects in project planning and change management.
  • Demonstrated competency and experience in managing staff and developing talent to ensure efficiency of the team.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to self-development and lifelong learning.
  • Must be self-directed and work independently.

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

 

Preferred

  • Professional certification in a field related to the position.
  • MBA, MPA, LLM or other relevant, graduate level education.
  • Knowledge of the corporate operations in a public-funded healthcare organization.
  • Ability to speak French.
