Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Manager - Crisis Response Services and Clinical Team Leaders, and in collaboration with the CRC/Rapid Access to Addictions Medicine (RAAM) Clinical Team, the incumbent is responsible for providing clinical services to individuals in a mental health, psychosocial or addiction crisis.

The Employer may use this posting to establish an eligibility list. Such lists may be maintained for a period of time not exceeding six (6) months.

Experience

  • Four years related community experience.
  • Expertise in the area of mental health and addictions.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • RN/BN or RPN/BRPN required.
  • Addiction related training such as The Core Addictions Practices certificate or equivalent education and training experience in substance use/dependency is an asset.
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
  • Suicide Assessment and Intervention Training.
  • Trauma Informed Care Training.
  • Completion of MICST (Manitoba Indigenous Cultural Safety Training).

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of active registration with the appropriate registering body.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of Crisis Intervention Theory.
  • Effective Crisis Intervention Skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of psychosocial rehab and recovery.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with people with substance related concerns.
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective networking and agency relations skills.
