In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of our departments across the province will require additional staffing to support our fight against COVID-19; while continuing to provide the best possible health care services to Manitobans.


Manitoba recognizes the hard work and dedication of our front-line heath care providers and we are looking for additional experienced health care providers to offer support during these unprecedented and challenging times, to help provincial efforts to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.


Position Overview

  • Under the general direction of the Regional Manager or designate, the incumbent provides administrative assistance as required
  • Types a variety of correspondence
  • Develops, maintains and updates a variety of databases, including data collection and entry, assisting with analysis and organization of information and preparation of reports
  • Facilitates large mail-outs, as required
  • Compiles information for meetings
  • Schedules meetings, attends meetings and takes minutes, as necessary
  • Receives and screens telephone calls, receives and relays messages (via email or voice mail), forwards callers to the appropriate personnel or area, answers routine inquiries
  • Monitors and maintains inventory of stock and non-stock office supplies, places orders for supplies as needed; checks received goods for damage or discrepancies and takes follow-up action as necessary
  • Arranges all courier and mail pickups as necessary
  • Adheres to all safety and health regulations and safe work practices
  • May be required to perform other duties and functions related to this job description not exceeding above stated skills and capabilities


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Typing 50 wpm and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) required.
  • Two years of administrative office experience required
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and English communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with email and computerized calendars and knowledge of the Internet essential
