Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Spiritual Care Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital (SBGH), the COORDINATOR, SPIRITUAL CARE Education is responsible for: coordinating, facilitating and administering spiritual care education program (CPE) at SBGH and other sites of the Catholic Health Corporation; acting as a resource for in-service education for all health care disciplines as requested; participating on committees; providing frontline Spiritual Care Services to patients, families and staff; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Three (3) years’ hospital Spiritual Health Care experience.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Master’s degree in Divinity, Theology or equivalent.
  • Supervisor (Associate or Teaching) certification with Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (CASC). Must maintain certification.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand French is preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of various common software applications which may include, but is not limited to, spreadsheet, word processing, database, internet and email applications.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to interact well with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
  • Ability to work with accuracy.
  • A knowledge of and sensitivity to the culture of a faith-based care institution, as well as interreligious and culturally safe care.
