Job Summary:
The Screening Program Follow up clerk (Clerk IV) is responsible for performing a variety of clerical administrative tasks required to initiate and complete diagnostic follow up of abnormal screening test results. This includes:
- Communicate (oral and written) abnormal screening test results to Screening Program clients
- Process follow-up diagnostic referrals due to an abnormal result
- Establish and maintain communication with Screening Program Staff, physicians and facility staff
- Collect, enter, and report on follow-up test results.
Qualifications:
Required:
Education
- Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant program or equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
Experience
- Minimum of two years of relevant health care experience.
- Experience in a healthcare clinical environment that involved interaction with patients and the public
- Experience with database management and word processing.
- Experience with electronic patient charts (EMR) and word processing, including Microsoft Office Suite and Internet.
- Experience communicating difficult information to the public is an asset
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
