Job Summary:

The Radiation Oncology Program at CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) provides radiation therapy services for cancer patients and the education and training of radiation therapy students for the province of Manitoba.

 

The Clinical Resource Radiation Therapist (CRRT) assesses, plans, implements and evaluates staff activities consistent with the mission, values, policies, and objectives of CCMB.  The CRRT supports the program by managing the resources required for the provision and coordination of patient care and by supervising staff within the program.  The CRRT provides the appropriate environment to meet the teaching and research commitments of CCMB.  The CRRT reports to the Manager of Patient Services - Radiation Therapy

 

Qualifications:

 

Education 

  • Current Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technology (CAMRT) registration

 

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Senior Radiation Therapist position or the equivalent experience as deemed appropriate for the position 

 

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Required Licenses, Registrations, Designations

  • Current Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technology (CAMRT) registration

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Ability to perform physical activities, such as lifting, pushing and pulling.

 

Preferred

  • Bachelor of (Radiation) Science, Health Related Degree or higher
  • Advanced credential e.g. CTRT, CMD, CDC
  • Completion of an approved Certificate in Management or Leadership
  • Personal suitability as demonstrated through a professional portfolio
  • Experience with ARIA RO, Varian Linear Accelerators and CT Simulators
  • CAMRT full length courses or other RT or leadership related courses

 

Other

  • Must have satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Ability to speak French
