Pensionable Salary Enhancement - Nurses in eligible classifications may be eligible to earn an additional $5.95/hour when working full-time hours within a prescribed six-month reporting period. (Effective April 1, 2025 – March 31st 2027.)
Position Overview
Under the general supervision of and in collaboration with the Manager Health Services and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is responsible for providing clinical expertise to nurses. The CRN assumes a leadership role in coordinating patient care within the health care team, ensuring quality patient care outcomes, and promoting an interprofessional patient centered approach to care based on best practice.
Experience
- Minimum three (3) years recent acute medicine or cardiology or CSIU or emergency nursing experience required.
- Nursing experience in a tertiary care setting experience required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Successful completion of the Advanced Assessment Course when the opportunity to take the course is scheduled by the employer, or otherwise mutually agreed to between the nurse and employer.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Current CRNM registration required.
- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as Windows, Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
