The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2024 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU collective agreement.

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of and in collaboration with the Program Team Manager and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital (SBGH), the CLINICAL RESOURCE NURSE (CRN) is responsible for providing clinical expertise to nurses. The CRN assumes a leadership role in coordinating patient care within the health care team, ensuring quality patient care outcomes, and promoting an interprofessional patient centered approach to care based on best practice.

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years recent Surgical Nursing experience required
  • Charge Nurse experience required

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, experience, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
