The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2025 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU collective agreement.

 

Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Program Director(s), the Educator provides and promotes educational activities that will assist staff to provide quality patient care. The Educator functions within the mission, philosophy and objectives of the Program and Hospital, utilizing clinical knowledge, expertise, and leadership skills.

Experience

  • Five years previous experience in adult education in a health care setting.
  • Must have a minimum of three years recent nursing experience with demonstrated competency in clinical nursing practice.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certificate in adult education an asset.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Current registration with CRNM.
  • Instructor’s CPR Certificate.
  • ACLS Providers, BTLS/TNCC Providers & PALS Providers required for Critical Care Program.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Computer skills an asset.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and independence n planning work to cope with demanding schedules.
  • Ability to deal with all levels of staff in all programs and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in complex situations.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Strong commitment to team work and to hospital wide education.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
