Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

The Breast Health Centre offers clients timely access to integrated breast care services and specialists. The program ensures leading edge technology, quicker response times, best practice in treatment, as well as providing education and support to clients and their families. The position workload will be approximately 50% transcription and 50% general clerical workload.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years related experience.
  • Experience working in an electronic medical record would be an asset.
  • Experience in scheduling and working in an electronic schedule is essential and knowledge of Aria and RIS scheduling would be an asset.
  • Experience maintaining records and registering patients.
  • Experience with mail distribution, photocopying and faxing.
  • Experience in health care would be an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Completion of a high school or equivalent program of studies.
  • Completion of Health Certificate or equivalent program of studies.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset.
  • Minimum keyboarding speed of 30 words per minute.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word. 
  • Data entry experience required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Access would be an asset.
  • Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a fast-moving environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to work as a team member effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
