Position Overview

Provides secretarial, clerical and receptionist duties for the Department of Social Work.

Experience

  • Two (2) years related experience required, preferably in a health care setting.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12, plus graduation from a recognized secretarial program required or a combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Keyboarding speed of 55 wpm.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in current computer programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
  • Knowledge of MDS system is preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
  • Works within the Centre’s core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with all levels of staff, clients, families, outside agencies and the general public.
  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision showing good attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of administrative and client matters.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
