Position Overview

Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the Staffing Clerk performs the staffing and scheduling functions for the organization as per the established policies and procedures.

Experience

  • 1-year experience in an equivalent position preferably in a health care environment.
  • 1-year experience working with ESP or other computerized staffing system performing extensive staffing and scheduling functions for an organization.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12 graduate, Manitoba Standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Advanced knowledge in staffing and scheduling processes.
  • Knowledge of applying collective agreement language in relation to staffing processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant Workplace Safety and Health responsibilities.
  • Ability to expertly use ESP effectively and efficiently to replace/schedule staff.
  • Proficiency in obtaining staff replacement in a complex unionized environment.
  • Proficiency in the basic use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and asking for guidance or direction when necessary.
  • Ability to use effective English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to select and use communication skills appropriate to the situation.
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to problem-solve and using tact, objectivity and sound judgment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain accurate files and records.
  • Ability to prioritize work activities, working in an organized manner and utilizing time efficiently.
  • Ability to use systems and equipment typical of an office environment.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
