Position Overview

Under the general supervision and direction of the Facility Support Services Lead this position provides administrative/clerical/secretarial support related to departmental and corporate activities.

Experience

  • Previous experience in the health care environment preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar position is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, is required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized administrative/clerical/secretarial program required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Keyboarding skills with an accuracy of 50 wpm.
  • Proficiency in SAP.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
  • Knowledge of relevant Workplace Safety and Health responsibilities.
  • To use good judgment, asking for guidance, direction when necessary.
  • Ability to express ideas and thoughts in English both verbally and in written format selecting appropriate communication methods for the situation.
  • Exhibits good listening and comprehension abilities.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relations utilizing tact and consideration.
  • Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to support committee functioning such as preparation of agendas, scheduling meetings, taking notes/minutes etc.
  • Ability to set up and maintain accurate files and records.
  • Ability to prioritize work activities.
  • Works in an organized manner utilizing time efficiently.
  • Ability to use systems and equipment typical of an office environment.

Physical Requirements

  • This position involves extended periods of sitting, computer work and some walking.

 

 

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
