Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Manager, WRHA Community and Corporate Volunteer Services, the incumbent supports the operation of WRHA Volunteer Services by assisting the support functions related to recruitment, screening, orientation placement, evaluation and recognition of volunteers.

Experience

  • Minimum one-year previous office experience required.
  • Experience in a hospital related environment an asset.
  • Experience working with volunteers and as a volunteer would be an asset.
  • Experience working with special needs and multicultural populations preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Volunteer Management Introduction (Level 1) preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills

  • Typing 50 wpm required.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Knowledge of Volunteer Works database is a definite asset.
  • Must be a team player with outstanding interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Ability to handle a diverse workload in a busy environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent interruptions.
  • Good physical and mental health required.
  • Contact with staff, volunteers, patients, and public.
  • Occasionally, may be required to work extended hours for events (i.e. volunteer recognition events).
