Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Manager Diagnostic Services, Non Invasive Cardiac Testing, the Charge Cardiology Technologist, Non-Invasive Cardiac Testing (NICT) is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical service delivery and environments/operational issues in the area where EKG, Holter and Stress Testing services are delivered, to ensure optimum patient care is delivered in a safe, therapeutic environment; providing guidance to general duty and senior technologists/technicians and students through clinical leadership, mentoring, supervision, education, evaluation and research; maintaining a clinical caseload within the established standards of care; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Experience
- Five (5) years' recent clinical experience as a certified Cardiology Technologist required.
- Previous recent supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous experience in all aspects of electrocardiographic testing for EKG, Holter/Ambulatory Monitoring application and analysis and Stress Testing is preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Successful completion of the Cardiology Technologist Certificate Program from a recognized accredited educational institution required.
- Current certification by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) required.
- Advanced CSCT certification, or recognized equivalent, required.
SPECIAL TRAINING:
- Completion of a recognized course of study in health services management, such as the RRC/WRHA Collaborative Health Services Management certificate program, preferred.
NOTE: Applicants who obtained their certification by CSCT at the Advanced level prior to 1995, and are currently still certified at the Advanced Level, will be deemed to meet the above qualification requirements.

- Knowledge of computer systems, Cardiac information systems and proficiency in the use of common software including email, internet and word processing applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
