Job Summary:

 

 

Working as a member of the Records Processing Team and with direction from the Supervisor and/or Manager, the incumbent is primarily responsible for providing accurate and timely placement of medical information in health records (electronic/paper), which includes processing incoming late reports, scanning/importing documents., while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times according to CCMB policy and ethics guidelines and regulations.

 

   The Records Processing Clerk meets deadlines, problem solves and exercises good judgment for decision making within the scope of the job description and within the team mandate

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Level of Formal Education & Experience

 

  • High School Diploma or Grade 12 equivalent from an accredited educational institution
  • Minimum one-year experience in a Health Information department with (electronic/paper) charts and with terminal digit filing or in a health care related field or one-year clerical experience.
  • Working experience with ARIA and MAXON, an asset

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

 

 

Skills and Abilities

 

 

  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, possess excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs and electronic medical records 
  • Maintain a current knowledge and ability to function in a computerized environment.
  • Alpha-numeric recognition aptitude required.
  • Typing/keyboarding skills (minimum 45 wpm) required.
  • Knowledge in medical terminology
  • Experience with data entry of patient information into a database
  • Experience volunteering or working in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to function in a demanding workload environment.

 

 

Other

  • Must have satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Ability to speak French
