Position Overview

Working as an integral member of a customer centric team, the primary responsibility of a business consultant is to work collaboratively with stakeholders in the service delivery organization to solve multidimensional problems, improve business and operational performance, and generate value for the health system as a whole. The business consultant works across specialty areas, business units and operations to pinpoint problems or highlight area(s) for business and operational improvements, review the findings and investigate potential solutions in order to gain a complete understanding of current procedures, identify improvements,document those processes.

Working with a customer centric mindset, the Business Consultant will assess, refine and break down opportunities into manageable components. This position will effectively transfer and interpret data driven evidence and insight to improve operations outcomes and key performance indicators. lndependenly or as part of an team, the business consultant supports the system, organization or site/service to facilitate, coordinate, identify, design and deliver on improvements which produce efficiency of the health services and operations.

Collaborate and support business performance analysis and improvement of health services to assist leaders make decisions related to capacity planning, resource allocation and scheduling, processes to inform changes in the organization and/or delivery of care. Develop business cases, modeling and analysis of information such as patient flows, operational costs, variances and other business and financial results to drive insight, remove waste and identify methods for improvements.. These roles will be allocated to support various sites, services and/or initiatives as required or as directed to support the organization.

The Business Consultant will contribute to health system business and operations optimization, and this position will collaborate with all businesses, sites and service partners to foster innovation opportunities.

The position will provide expertise in process improvement, requirements gathering, quality assurance, project management, analysis, training and reporting solutions.

Experience

  • 5 years progressive experience working in an analytical or operations improvement role with a focus on process review redesign, quantitative analysis and performance measurement.
  • 3 years' experience with project management, business case development, modeling and/or analysis.
  • 2 years' experience in leading multiple business process transformation and/or organizational change projects.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline such as commerce, business administration, or business analysis.
  • PROSCI, PMP, Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Active member in good standing with an associated regulatory body as appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings.
  • Interruptions to respond to questions are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled.
  • Travel to other facilities throughout Winnipeg.

 

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
