Position Overview
- Collaborate with stakeholders as assigned to analyze and solve complex, multidimensional problems, improve business and operational performance and care outcomes, introduce efficiencies, and generate value for the health system.
- Provide expertise in process improvement, requirements gathering, quality assurance, analysis, training and reporting solutions.
- Facilitate, coordinate, identify, design and deliver recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiency of various services, systems, processes and procedures.
- Investigate, identify, review, analyze, assess and refine key performance indicators for diverse areas of the health system.
- Obtain, transfer, examine and interpret data to produce useful and meaningful reports.
- Provide insight into problem identification, data interpretation, and the identification, investigation, testing and refinement of potential solutions to address systemic barriers to efficiency and quality care.
- Foster innovation, curiosity, and problem-solving to support health system optimization.
Working as assigned with a customer-centric mindset, each position will be assigned to support various work areas, specialties, business units, services, projects and improvement initiatives. The outcomes of the work of this position will inform systemic improvements diverse areas of the health system such as:
- Capacity planning, resource allocation and scheduling.
- Models of care, care pathways, methods of care delivery.
- Patient flow and wait times.
- Purchasing, warehousing, supply chain and materials management.
- Budgeting, variances, financial management and reporting.
- Capital planning and construction.
Experience
- 5 years of progressive experience working in an analytical or operations research role with a focus on process review redesign, quantitative analysis and performance measurement.
- 3 years of experience with business case development, modeling and/or analysis.
- 2 years of experience in team collaboration on multiple business process transformation and/or organizational change projects.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Post-secondary degree in computer sciences, sciences, mathematics, commerce, business analysis or data management.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Active member in good standing with an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated mid-level leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings at multiple sites throughout the organization, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
- Interruptions to respond to questions are common; incumbent can schedule dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration.
- Travel throughout the province requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
