Position Overview

 

Working in a collaborative team, you will provide legal services in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment and will be responsible for management and conduct of a variety of corporate and commercial work. Drafting, reviewing and providing legal advice on a broad range of contracts and commercial transactions is a key element of the required services. You will oversee a broad range of matters which may include any or all of: agreements of purchase or sale of goods or services, student placement agreements, funding agreements, research agreements, information manager/sharing agreements, emergency response services agreements, surgical facility and laboratory services agreements, equipment and real property leases, software licenses, and insurance matters.

 

 

You will also anticipate and identify legal issues and providing support to and consulting with senior legal counsel and management to develop legal strategies and solutions will be a key aspect of the work. You will be expected to provide advice with respect to privacy and access legislation applicable to the health care sector and assist in the development or review of organizational policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate would preferably have: at least two (2) years of experience in the practice of corporate or commercial law, with the ability to draft contracts and specifications/deliverables, legal opinions and other commercial documents; a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and will demonstrate the essential leadership skills defined by LEADS in a Caring Environment.
