Manitoba Tomorrow Project - MacCharles


Term, Full-time (1.0 EFT) – Grant Funded

Job Summary:
The Manitoba Tomorrow Project (MTP) is a new population health research program based at CancerCare Manitoba, aiming to better understand the causes of cancer and other diseases by following the health of 10,000 Manitobans long-term, for up to 50 years. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Research Assistant will be responsible for independently working on all aspects of implementing this complex research projection as assigned., including coordination with participants, local scientists, and the national Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow Project scientific team, undertaking statistical analysis of data, and preparing rigorous study documentation, scientific papers and presentations.
Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Health Information Management, Health Sciences or related fields
  • Previous experience conducting literature reviews, developing and reporting data
  • Previous experience assisting in the analysis of research results and preparation of journal articles, papers, and reports
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook))
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada

  • Strong time management skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task , flexibility, initiative and independent decision making skills
  • Excellent quantitative, qualitative, and analytical skills
  • Strong problems solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Master of Science or research related field
  • Familiarity with epidemiological concepts
  • Experience in healthcare environments
  • Ability to speak French

Salary: Non-Union
