Programmer (Health Services Research Platform)

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Health Services Research Lead, the Programmer/Analyst develops customized programming in SAS, R, STATA, or other appropriate software to extract, compile, and analyze data, and generates summary tables and graphs for the Health Services Research Platform and the Informatics Platform.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Undergraduate university degree in a scientific or statistical discipline
  • Extensive programming experience in SAS
  • Experience with data extraction, linkage, cleaning, and manipulation
  • Experience using common statistical analyses such as Cox Regression, generalized linear models
  • Knowledge of assumptions required for statistical analyses
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience using administrative and clinical databases
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Legally able to work in Canada

 

To be determined on the interview process:

  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and able to follow detailed protocols with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills

 

Preferred:

  • Programming experience in R and/or STATA
  • Master’s degree in a directly related study area such as statistics, demography, quantitative social sciences, or community health sciences.

 

Asset:

  • Strong population health background with at least three (3) years of programming work experience
  • Ability to speak French

 

Salary: Non-Union (compensation based on qualifications)
