Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

The diagnostic support supervisor will be responsible for the ongoing operation of the diagnostic services support for the diagnostic services departments of Shared Health.  This position will be responsible for the day to day oversite and supervision of the support services/staff support employees including scheduling, conducting performance evaluations, assisting with discipline, and overseeing the recruitment of new support services staff  where required.  In addition, this role will be responsible for the on-going training of the support services staff on all electronic diagnostic systems. The diagnostic support supervisor proactively provides senior leadership administration support to the Diagnostic Services Director by producing timely correspondence, coordinating meetings and schedules. This position will organize meeting material and prepare agendas/minutes and follow up on action items.

Experience

  • 5 years of progressive supervisory to mid management experience in a large enterprise, preferably in a health-care setting including:
    • 5 years of experience in a senior administrative position interacting with diverse internal and external stakeholders
    • 5 years of experience maintaining calendars, coordinating meetings including preparing agendas and minutes, producing and maintaining information, confidential records and documents using current office productivity tools (such as MS Office and Teams) 
    • 3 years of experience working with an enterprise resource planning or human resources information system (such as SAP, ESP or QHR) for timekeeping and processing administrative documentation
    • 3 years supporting a unionized employee group and working within a collective bargaining agreement

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post-secondary diploma and/or certificate in a relevant discipline such as business administration, administrative/support services support, medical office administration, human resources from an accredited educational institution 

 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated staff to mid-level leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework
  • Formal training in Medical Terminology is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ability to prioritize a large workload and independently complete a variety of administrative duties

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg
  • Interruptions to respond to questions from executives, and partner organizations are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province
