Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Digital Health focuses on supporting clinical and business systems as the foundation for leveraging electronic data in the delivery of health services.

 

Digital solutions facilitators:

  • Coordinate and implement assigned digital health solutions at a variety of assigned health partners throughout the province
  • Build collaborative relationships at all organizational levels to support Manitoba health system service delivery organizations in adopting and using assigned technologies within the established healthcare enterprise architecture
  • Ensuring confidentiality and information integrity

 

This position will support providing equitable health service by supporting the adoption of virtual care services in Northern Manitoba.

Experience

3 years of experience in an information technology services role supporting operations and/or projects, preferably in a health care environment, including:

  • 2 years of experience planning, coordinating, and supporting digital technology solution implementations
  • 2 years of experience training new users at all organizational staff levels in the use and adoption of applications
  • 2 years of experience with organizational change management tools and methodologies (such as Prosci), project management methodologies or standards (such as PRINCE2 or PMBOK), and proficiently using office productivity applications and tools to support effective project processes and communications

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field (technology, business, health) from an accredited education institution; a post-secondary diploma with relevant experience may be considered

 

An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Active member in good standing with an associated regulatory body as appropriate

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated staff-level leadership capabilities including sensitivity to the cultural needs of Indigenous people. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg
  • Regularly involved in meetings and dealing with competing demands, interruptions to respond to questions are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled
  • Travel throughout the province requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate service requirements for 24/7/365, province-wide client needs through scheduled overtime and on call work as required
