Are you a retired teacher looking for a new challenge? Or someone looking to get back into the workforce after some time away? We are looking to hire a part time Employment Facilitator for an indefinite term. This position offers a wide variety of responsibilities as part of a great team and a career pathway into the broader Eden organization.
Position Summary:
The Employment Facilitator for the OPPs (Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities) Program supports and assists clients with disabilities in overcoming barriers to increase their employability and obtain paid employment. This takes place through conducting client intakes, assessment and planning, facilitating group workshops and individual career counselling sessions. Additionally, this individual will arrange work experience opportunities and work closely with both the participant and employer to ensure workplace success. This position works collaboratively with other program staff and is responsible for program reporting, case management and inputting data into a client management system.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary certification/ education in employment, social services, mental health and/or education OR a relevant combination of education, training and experience.
- Sound understanding of employment barriers and experience working with various client groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral English.
- Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated facilitation experience, specifically delivering workshops on personal development, professional skills development or job search.
- Previous work or volunteer experience building relationships, supporting goal development, communicating, listening and problem-solving with clients.
- Must be able to work independently and be self-directed carrying a caseload and possess strong case management skills.
- Knowledge of and experience working with other social service agencies and related government departments an asset.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience working with SPRS or a client management system an asset.
- Possession of and the ability to maintain a clear provincial criminal record check.
