Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager – Financial Reporting, the Accounts Payable Supervisor plans, organizes and manages the day-to-day operations and activities of a centralized Accounts Payable department. The incumbent assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining high standards of service in the management of fiscal, human and material resources for the department.
The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

 

Qualifications:
• Degree/Diploma in Business Administration from an accredited business program, majoring in
Accounting
• Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook, with particular competency in the creation and modification of excel spreadsheets
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software an asset
• Two (2) years recent relevant and supervisory experience
• Previous Accounts Payable experience an asset
• Previous project work experience an asset
• Demonstrated strong communication skills both in oral and written format
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and direct activities
• Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional working relationships
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple priorities and competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to promote positive change
• Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
• Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required
• Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
• Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
• Good work and attendance record

 

Conditions of Employment:
• Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate
• All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy
• Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
