Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Responsible to and under the direction of the Charge Technologist or designate, the Medical Diagnostic Receptionist functions as an essential part of the health care team. The incumbent performs and coordinates office/reception related activities for the Diagnostic Services within the framework provided by Shared Health’s Mission, Vision, Values, and established standards.

  • Grade 12 education required.
  • Recognized Medical Administration certificate or equivalent required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office required.
  • Able to transcribe voice dictation required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with clients and team required.
  • Sound organizational skills required.
  • Demonstrated dexterity, speed, accuracy, and efficient work methods required.
  • Able to work both independently and as a team member required.
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy is an asset.
